Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do on stage?

We’re open to applications from performers, panel and workshop creators. If you have any other ideas, feel free to send them over to info@rakuevents.com. We’re excited to see what you come up with!

How long can my act be?

For scheduling purposes, the minimum length is 5 minutes. The maximum length is 45 minutes, however the final amount will be confirmed after your application is accepted. Please bear this in mind when planning!

After Party acts are limited to 15 minutes each.

Are there content restrictions for my act?

Since RakuCon is an event for all ages, we ask that you keep all content during day acts suitable for a general family audience (PG). Feel free to go more wild at the after party, but remember to follow our Terms & Conditions!

What time will acts run from?

  • Saturday: 10am

  • Sunday: 12pm

  • After Party: 9pm

What equipment is available?

As a minimum, we aim to provide the following items to performers:

  • A choice of wired or wireless microphones

  • Microphone stands

  • Sound system

  • Projector for videos, PowerPoints etc

  • Lighting setup

Other items may be available, but there is no guarantee. When applying, please tell us exactly what you need and inform us in good time if this changes.

Performers at the after party will have access to a microphone and microphone stand. For other items, please contact us well in advance.

Can I bring my own equipment?

Yes, but please inform us in advance. We may need to safety check items, and items brought on the day that are not accounted for may be barred from entry.

Can I go on both days?

Due to a high number of applications, we are unable to allow the same act on multiple days, however we are happy for you to go on stage both days if the acts are different.

Please submit applications for each act so we have the details for both. This also applies to the After Party.

Can I record my act?

Absolutely! Please let us know if you’re bringing any equipment or need us to provide something for this. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to record it ourselves, so we recommend that you do it yourself or get a friend to help out.

Do acts need to buy tickets?

Acts receive a free ticket for the day they are performing. Please note, free tickets are only available for the day of your act, if you wish to attend the other day of the convention (or the after party) you will need to purchase a ticket.

We provide free tickets for each member of your act, as well as 1 crew member. This will be confirmed in email before the event.

After Party acts will only receive a free ticket to the party.

Can I sell merchandise?

Acts can sell a small amount of merchandise during the buffer before and after their time slot. There will be a small space made available on a table in the Momentum room for you to stand behind for selling your items.

Please note you may only bring a small amount of items and the merchandise must be original and related to the performance/panel. E.g. CDs or t-shirts with your logo. You can only sell items for a limited amount of time before and after your time slot.

If you’d like a bigger space, with the freedom to sell a large amount of items and no time limit, you will need to purchase a trader table.

Please note that we cannot provide card readers or any other equipment for your table.

There is no space at the after party venue for merchandise sales.
